With over 24 years of Active-Duty Service in the U.S. Coast Guard and 27 years in the Maritime Community, Aaron Van Huysen brings serious maritime expertise and hands-on experience to the table. He’s spent the majority of his career navigating the complex waters of marine inspections—laser-focused on prevention, safety, and investigations within the maritime community. But here’s the thing: he didn’t stop there. Aaron saw an opportunity to help mariners, vessel owners, and buyers cut through red tape and make life on the water easier and safer. That’s where AVHMSC comes in.
Aaron’s career has taken him from three Coast Guard cutters to two Aid to Navigation stations, a Coast Guard station, and assignments at two high-profile prevention sectors—Sector New York and the Marine Safety Detachment in Cape Cod. His maritime resume is packed with experience on everything from small passenger vessels, tugs, barges and high-speed ferries to foreign flag vessels such as cruise ships, tankers, freight vessels, and ROROs (Roll-on/Roll-off ships).
Simply put: Aaron knows boats. Big or small, fast or slow, he’s seen it all—and he’s made it his mission to use that knowledge to help you.
